Dr. Kathleen Perry:
Hi, It’s Dr. Perry. So do you enjoy smoothies? Well I’m not going to provide you with a smoothie recipe today, I hate smoothies! I really do. I’ve tried to force myself to replace breakfast with a smoothie, a few times, and I gave up that idea because even though I know they are so healthy, or can be healthy, I’m just not satisfied. I need a fork, a knife, a plate, sit down, enjoy the dining experience. I prefer warm food over cold food. I just walk away from a smoothie, say for breakfast, feeling totally unsatisfied, but I did create a green energy drink, sort of a smoothie that I love, love the taste of, and it is chock full of wonderful nutrients. So what I did was I took that drink or smoothie recipe, and I turned it into a sauce or a dressing. I thought that was pretty ingenious. So, I want to share my green energy drink with you, if you are a smoothie person you’ll enjoy it as a drink, but I’m also going to share how I modify it so that I can use it as a salad dressing or a sauce to put over a grilled protein or steamed vegetables or, I don’t steam very much, stir fried vegetables because I do use a lot of fat in my diet, and I’ve been talking to you about incorporating more healthy fat in your diet. So go ahead, stir fry those veggies or, if you do steam them because it’s quick and easy, then add a lot of grass fed butter or ghee or use ghee plus my green energy drink as a sauce on top of your vegetables and you will find that to be pretty yummy. Maybe you can even get your kids and your grandkids to enjoy more healthy vegetables by putting this sauce. I know kids are sometimes a little averse to something green, even my husband is sometimes so I throw a banana in his just to sweeten it up a little bit for him. So if you have any tips regarding how you’ve modified recipes to make them ideal for you, please share with me. I’m always interested in finding out what’s working for you and on the flip side if you have any challenges regarding your diet that you would like to ask me about. I definitely would like to know any stumbling blocks that you have because if you’re dealing with a challenge regarding your health odds are there’s quite a few other women that are dealing with the same thing as well and then I can address that for you in my videos or in the articles on my website, Thanks!
